Where is the Barnabas Campfire run located?


The 5K Run, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, and Camper Stroll will start and finish in Jordan Valley Park 635 E Trafficway St. Springfield, MO 65802.

I'm not a runner, but I love Camp Barnabas; how can I get involved?


We would love to have you sign up to participate in our 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk or volunteer. We need lots of help to make sure the day goes off without a hitch. To register to volunteer, click here. My camper would love to be a part of this event but doesn't want to run a whole 5K; how can I get involved?


Great news! The evening will kickoff with the Camper Stroll and we would love to have your camper along with any member of the disability community participate. The Stroll is a 1/10 mile walk/run/roll that begins at 5:00pm. Each participant will receive a shirt, beard, bib, and medal. Please register your camper here.




Should I feed the bears?


Please do not feed the bears!




How can I be a sponsor of this event?


Thank you for your interest in sponsoring the Campfire 5K! For more information or to commit, please fill out and return the sponsorship packet.




What is your COVID contingency plan?


We will adhere to the CDC and Green County Health Department recommended guidelines for the safety of this event. If health officials advise, we will move to a fully virtual event. If a completely virtual event is required, all registrations would be transitioned to the virtual option. As this is a fundraising event vital to completing our missions, no refunds or registration transfers would be given.




Will I need a mask?


Participants will be required to wear a mask prior to the race start in accordance with local guidelines. Keep yours in your pocket for the finish line. Extra masks will be available at the finish line. All volunteers will be required to wear a mask at all times.




Will there be a staggered start line?


Yes. Based on registration numbers, the start will be staggered in an effort to space runners out. Your time will not be affected as your bib chip will not start until you cross the start line.




Will there be an awards ceremony?


We will announce the winners of awards at 6:00pm and place them on a table by the stage for a contactless delivery. If winners who live locally are unable to receive their award on race day, we would ask that they pick them up at the Barnabas Springfield office. We will mail awards to out of area winners who do not pick up their awards on race day.




How do I get my race packet?


Packet pickup will take place Friday, March 5th from 11:00am-6:00pm in the Barnabas Foundation parking lot located at 2060 E. Sunshine. Pickup will be set up drive-thru style so participants will not need to exit their cars. If you are unable to pickup on Friday, your packet will be available on race day, March 6th, at Jordan Valley Park beginning at 3:30pm.




Can I have my race packet mailled?


Yes! If you are not available to pick up your packet or would like to stay distanced, we are happy to mail your packet to you. The cutoff for race packet mail requests is February 15th. There will be a $5 fee to cover shipping costs.




Will aid stations be available?


Yes but in a limited capacity! Small, individual water bottles and packaged goods will be available for participates to grab and go.




Is there a virtual option to participate?


Yes! Maybe you’d feel more comfortable participating on your own or you are not local to Springfiled, MO...the virtual option is perfect for you.
